5 ways to reach your goals featured image

Narrowing down 5 ways to achieve your goals in the new year is the best way to stay motivated and make REAL changes. These 5 simple steps make it easy to stay FOCUSED. The goal is to make some serious changes/upgrades in your life, not get overwhelmed.

You are seriously going to be impressed at how simple yet effective this method is. And, I can attest to its powers because I have personally had so much success with it, and I’ve seen friends and family use it to grow as well! IT’S 100% PROVEN! And 100% free.

So, take a look at these five EASY ways to achieve your goals in the new year, and complete each step as you go.

If you want, start with a rough draft of your goals and then make a more polished version once you’ve got it down. Repetition works magic too.

Okay. Let’s do this!

1. DECIDE precisely what you want Your New year to look like (And WHy)

Deciding what you want to achieve is THE most important step. It’s hard to advance in life when you aren’t clear where you’re going.

Spend some time with yourself and really think about what you want. When you close your eyes and imagine your ideal life, what does it look like?

Of course, you want to make reasonable goals for the most part… But DON’T BE AFRAID TO DREAM BIG!

The times of selling yourself short are OVER! It’s time to LEVEL-UP.

Pro-TIp- When you allow yourself to accept that your dreams CAN and WILL be a reality, most of the work is done.

Bonus- If you know it will motivate you further, include a note as to WHY these goals are important to you and how they will change your life.

You can do this.

2. Write it down.

Okay. Now that you’ve decided what you want, it’s time to make it official by writing it down.

Find a piece of paper, or a notebook, that will be easily accessible, and grab your favorite pen.

Write down, in list form, the goals you’ve decided you want to achieve in the new year. Be clear and specific!

Seeing your hopes and dreams written down on paper makes them feel more tangible. It instantly makes the connection in your head that your dreams are real, official, and very very possible!

3. Identify The first small steps required to achieve each goal.

Now we are going to build a second list. This time, take each goal you made on the first list and add 1-2 small steps that you need to take to get the ball rolling.

Depending on your organizational style, you may write all goals on one sheet of paper in list form or use one sheet for each headline goal.

The objective is to identify the actions you need to take to bring each of your goals to fruition—one by one. Once you take the time to break it down, you may find getting started is not as overwhelming as you might have initially felt.

Breaking it down makes it easier to take the first step since you are now looking at a small task instead of the big picture.

4. Choose One goal and make that your First priority.

It could get overwhelming if you try to tackle all of your new goals at once.

There aren’t any rules dictating WHICH goal you start with. You might pick the most significant goal that will require the most time. You might choose the most manageable goal to build momentum for the year.

You know yourself better than anyone. Go with the goal you feel the most confident you can start on TODAY.

Once you have selected your primary goal, make a complete to-do list detailing actions that you need to take to achieve this goal.

Do one small thing each day to bring yourself closer to achieving that goal.

5. Reward yourself weekly for sticking to your goals.

Rewarding yourself for your hard work is the most immediate way to make it all worth it. At the end of each week, treat yourself to a predetermined reward.

I say predetermined because the consistency here will make the work toward your goals into a routine. Which, in turn, will make it easier to keep moving forward.

Whether it’s a small sweet treat, a luxurious bath, a yummy meal, a small purchase, or anything else you know will motivate you, you will look forward to your reward each week.

Keep yourself honest and ONLY indulge in your reward if you have made progress toward your goals. Even if you make the slightest move forward, like taking 5 minutes to envision yourself living the life you desire, you’ve earned your reward.

Actions That Count Toward Your Goal

  • Google/research the goal you are planning to achieve.
  • Take 2 minutes to stop and visualize your life when your goal is achieved.
  • Perform a task related to your goal.
  • Check off something on your goal to-do list.
  • Identify your next task.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, whether or not you achieve your goals is entirely up to you. Remind yourself of this.

A year from now you will wish you started today.

Personally, I will be following this advice and finally taking action on some of my biggest dreams. It’s time to start thinking and start doing!

I promise, if we follow these steps, we will be thanking ourselves come NYE 2022 when reflecting on our year and our achievements.

So, imagine where you could be in one year. Literally, imagine it, right now! And then get to work.

I have used this method many times before, and I credit it for all I have accomplished in life so far. By taking the time to definitively define my goals and map out which direction I want to take in life, I have overcome the odds and surprised everyone around me. (Mainly family who were expecting the worst under the circumstances.)
